NEMCO Motorsports’ NASCAR Camping World Truck Series History at the Martinsville Speedway … This weekend will mark NEMCO Motorsports’ 14th NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at the .526-mile paperclip-oval track. The organization earned a team best finish of a victory at the short track with John Hunter Nemechek on March 26, 2018. Thirteen starts at the Martinsville Speedway have earned NEMCO Motorsports an average starting position of 15.0 and an average finish of 13.6.

 

NEMCO Motorsports’ NASCAR Camping World Truck Series History … Since entering the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 1995, the Mooresville, N.C.,-based organization has logged 163 starts from six drivers, resulting in strong performances that include seven victories (Watkins Glen, Chicago, Atlanta, Canada, Gateway, Iowa, and Martinsville) and 35 top-five finishes, as well as 70 top-10 finishes, with an average starting position of 14.4 and an average finishing position of 15.0.

 

Collective NEMCO Motorsports … In the first 19 events of the season, NEMCO Motorsports’ two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series entries have one victory (Martinsville with John Hunter Nemechek), seven top-five and 12 top-10 finishes. The No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado is in the seventh-place in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series owner points. The NEMCO Motorsports-prepared Chevrolet Silverados have completed 2,925 total laps – leading 257 of those laps. Joe Nemechek and John Hunter Nemechek rank 20th and 84th respectively in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver points.

 

All in the Family … Team owner Joe Nemechek has found success in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) at the Martinsville Speedway, with one pole award (1993), two top-five and two top-10 finishes in nine starts. In 38 starts at the Martinsville Speedway, “Front Row” Joe Nemechek, is credited with one pole award (1999), and one top-10 finish in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS). In addition, Joe Nemechek is credited with one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at the Martinsville Speedway. John Nemechek had two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at the .526-mile track – including finishing in the ninth-place on September 25, 1995.

This Week’s NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado at the Martinsville Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek will pilot Chassis No. 042 in the Texas Roadhouse 200 presented by Alpha Energy Solutions at the Martinsville Speedway. The Gere Kennon-led team last unloaded this NEMCO Motorsports prepared chassis at the Iowa Speedway on June 16, 2018, where they finished in the 27th-place after starting in the eighth-place.

Paperclip Review … This weekend marks John Hunter Nemechek’s 11th Martinsville Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Mooresville, N.C., driver has earned an average starting position of 14.0 and an average finishing position of 13.5 at the .526-mile track. Nemechek has led for a total of 81 laps at the historic track. In addition, Nemechek made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut on October 26, 2013 at the Virginia short track behind the wheel of the No. 22 family-owned machine.

 

Short Track Stats: In 20 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts on short tracks (less than one mile in length), John Hunter Nemechek has recorded two victories (Iowa, Martinsville), eight top-five and 11 top-10 finishes, with an average starting spot of 11.2 and an average finish of 11.6 on these racetracks.

 

Race Rewind: Martinsville Speedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fleetwing Corporation / D.A.B. Constructors, Inc., Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, was victorious in the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on March 26 at the Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Va. Nemechek started the 250-lap event from the eighth position. At the Stage 1 conclusion on Lap 70, Nemechek finished in the sixth position, gaining valuable playoff points, and finished Stage 2 on Lap 140 in the fifth place. Nemechek took the lead on a restart with 31 laps remaining and held the lead for a .106 second margin of victory. Nemechek led 31 laps at the Martinsville Speedway to his career-first victory at the .526-mile track in 10 starts, and his sixth victory in 79 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.

 

In the Rearview Mirror: Talladega (Al.) Superspeedway … John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 8 Fleetwing Corporation Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports, scored a 27th-place finish in the Fr8Auctions 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Saturday, October 13, at the Talladega Superspeedway. Nemechek started in the 31st-position in the 32-truck field. The 21-year old finished Stage 1 in the 10th-place, on Lap 20, and restarted in the 12th-place after a pit stop for four tires, fuel and adjustments. At the end of Stage 2, on Lap 40, Nemechek was in the fifth-place, and was scored in the third-place by Lap 45. While battling for position on Lap 58, the Mooresville, N.C., native was involved in an incident that resulted him going to the garage. Unable to finish, Nemechek finished in the 27th-place.

 

Season-to-date … Through the 19 events NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2018 season, John Hunter Nemechek has completed 2015 of 2201 laps contested (91.5 percent) in 15 starts. Nemechek is currently 84th in the driver point standings and seventh in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series owner points. Nemechek has spent 1,823 laps running in the top 15 and has made 730 green-flag passes thus far this season.
